To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.

  • Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 13:54 on 2 June 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems, because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed, determined not to be an error, or the item has rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

What is Spanish Basque nationalist is there a French Basque nationalist group (the grouping in France is of ETA anyways). Or is there a new "Spanish Basque nationalism" that I'm unaware of? by definition they are exclusive. Basque naitonalist would more than suffice.(Lihaas (talk) 02:02, 6 September 2010 (UTC));[reply]

Agreed. However I think we should still provide some indication of where the Basque region is for those who might not know. How is: "The Basque nationalist group ETA, that operates mainly in France and Spain, announces a ceasefire, the first since a similar 2006 declaration." or is that too clunky with all the commas? - Dumelow (talk) 07:26, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Its certainly better than the current incarnation. Perhaps take away France (granted its been more active in france in recent times than in history), as its prime base of operations 'is spain, its just not a "Spanish Basque..." by definition.Lihaas (talk) 02:02, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me. Done - Dumelow (talk) 10:13, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesn't it say "terrorist group" instead of "nationalist", considering that both countries in which it operates consider it so, as well as the USA, the EU, and the fact that they've killed almost one thousand people in Spain and France in the last 40 years? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.109.153.96 (talk) 14:18, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated it. The new version doesn't look anywhere near as eyecatching though! - Dumelow (talk) 07:23, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Regarding the floods in Guatemala. No source in the article on the depression acutally says the floods are a result of the depression. This entry is misleading and could be factually incorrect, and should reaslly be removed unless there's a source for it. Strange Passerby (talk) 02:34, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I found a source. Next time do not doubt WP:TROP (kinda joking of cousre). YE Tropical Cyclone 02:58, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That fails WP:RS. It's a wiki-style site where users write their own articles. Strange Passerby (talk) 03:03, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Additional references sourced to the Associated Press have been posted to the article's talk page. Titoxd(?!? - cool stuff) 03:06, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Here is another source. YE Tropical Cyclone`

Redlink to 5771 (Hebrew year), an article which was recently deleted. Not sure the best way to deal with this; perhaps linking to Hebrew calendar instead? Modest Genius talk 23:57, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done, but any better ideas welcome. BencherliteTalk 00:02, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I gave tomorrow's On This Day the same edit. So if you change one, change the other. Art LaPella (talk) 02:53, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The blurb for the Labour Elector should read 'travelled' rather than 'traveled'. British English and all that, y'know. 86.133.211.42 (talk) 18:08, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I corrected this three minutes before you posted here. How's that for service?! - Dumelow (talk) 18:09, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
According to the article H.H. Champion he travelled to Australia in 1893, and not in 1890 as stated in the Labour Elector article & DYK. Denisarona (talk) 19:41, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The two sources at Labour Elector both state 1890; the source for Champion is an olde-style paper source, so I can't check it. But based on the two online sources I'd go with 1890. I'll change Champion's article and leave a note on the talk page. But as far as I can tell, the DYK is correct. Thanks for spotting this. TFOWR 19:51, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, the plot thickens. As far as I can tell, he went to Australia in 1890, and again in 1893. The first trip may have been to organise Aussie unions, or may have been for the good of his health. I'm going to leave it, and ping the editor who created "Labour Elector". TFOWR 19:56, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
