He was responsible for all Management Functions of the department - Finance, Project Execution, Monitoring And Control, Human Resource Management & Operations. He also implemented the pilot project for setting up of facilities of mechanized cleaning of trains and stations, done for the first time in the Eastern Section of India. He even managed the upkeep facilities of 400 train crew stay at outstation lodging and boarding rooms.

Gaurav was a Senior Divisional Mech. Engineer at Malda Town, India from 30/12/03-26/05/04. He was Works Manager at Jamalpur[8], India responsible for all Management Functions of the department - Finance, Project Execution, monitoring and Control, Human Resource Management & Planning from 10/04/01-29/12/03. He was Divisional Mech. Engineer (Diesel) at Patratu, India from 07/05/99- 09/04/01 and got awarded by General Manager/Eastern Railway for Outstanding Professional Contribution. He was in charge of maintenance of 525 passenger carriages, which includes India’s prestigious Rajdhani Express train at Coaching Depot Officer at Patna, India from 19/08/98-06/05/99. He has served as Assistant Mech. Engineer (Carriage & Wagon) at Andal, India from 01/10/96-18/08/98. He was in charge of operations and maintenance of Rail Freight wagon activities.
