Revision as of 05:14, 3 September 2012

To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.

  • Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 14:38 on 29 May 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems, because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed, determined not to be an error, or the item has rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

Wouldn't several images of clipped magazine headers be not PD unless there is something in British Copyright law that allows such showing on Wikipedia? --293.xx.xxx.xx (talk) 04:52, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

None of the individual parts of the collage qualifies for copyright because they are just text and shapes, and as such, don't pass the threshold of originality. That's my reading anyways. IANAL, YMMV, etc. --Jayron32 05:05, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Today's FL, Hugo Award for Best Fan Artist; how is 23 more than 24 ? I.e. does the following make no sense to anyone else ?

Brad W. Foster (pictured) has received the most number of awards, with 8 wins out of 24 nominations. William Rotsler has received 5 out of 23, the most nominations of any artist.

The emphasised part implies that 23 > 24. The article says the same and has been stable for quite a while (the change that added this was in April), so this has been missed for a long time, including while it's been up for this week's FL. Or am I totally misreading this ? --JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 02:28, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
