Vasil Bollano ([Βασίλης Μπολάνος, Vasilis Bolanos] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help)) [1] is an self-declared [2] Greek mayor of Himara municipality, in southwest Albania.[3]

Additionally, Vasil Bollano is the president of Omonoia, which represents the rights of Albania's Greek minority, as well as member of the Unity for Human Rights Party.

On 21 April 2009 he was initially sentenced to 6 months in prison and a fine of 3800 euros for removing road signs in the municipality. Bollano objected to the signs, which had been installed by national authorities, because they were written only in Albanian and not also in Greek.[4] Bollano appealed against the decision, arguing that the installment of road signs was a matter of municipal jurisdiction[5] and finally an appeal court overturned his initial sentence.[6]

In December 2009 after investigation of Vlora department of prosecutions he was indicted on charges of abuse of power and falsification of official documents after issuing illegal building permits along the Albanian southern coast.[7]

On May 24, 2010, a bomb attack on Bollano's house took place, causing damage to his house and nearby parked cars.[8] The mayor's house also came under attack during the previous elections.
