Well, some people do eat 'them'.(But sacrifice!?) I do usually warn about such silliness, but reverting and ignoring (thus denying their 'feedback' from us, which may be their entire purpose) saves time & typing! Ah, a shame, I thought that one would be the funniest... Ουμπία is translated as "έμμονη ιδέα, προκατάληψη, δυσειδαιμονία" and comes from Italian ubbia, meaning "irrational fear" (Γεράσιμος Χυτήρης, Κερκυραικό Γλωσσάρι, Κέρκυρα, 1992). See you around. Well, I saw Angelokastro on your userpage (beautiful picture btw, congrats) and I just couldn't resist to use a couple of words of the Corfiot idiom. Thank you for the nice comments about the picture. It is a nice place and the picture may have caught some of the ambience. Thank you for the book details. It is already on my to-do list. Unfortunately this type of Corfiote dialect is not spoken too widely any longer, if at all. It must be the result of the uniform Greek education curriculum, but this analysis is for another day. Hi there, why did you tag my edits as vandalism? Do you really think I edited the article with the intention of vandalizing it? How about if we call an administrator and ask them what they think of this? Because accusing someone of vandalism is very serious.

About your edits.... you repeated twice that Macedonia is a Greek word.... I cut it down to just once. Then you are talking about modern Greek words "makros". This is the only thing I took out because it is irrelevant to the article. We are talking about Macedonia which comes from Makednos. Then I mentioned that the reason the Macedonians were called "highlanders" or "tall" is because of their physical character (they were tall people) or because Macedon was mountainous (highlands).

Please do not accuse me of vandalizing, or I will call an administrator to see what you're doing. Please tell me exactly what problem you have with what I said above. Bakersdozen77 (talk) 01:20, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oops! I do have to apologise on accusing you for vandalism; it was my mistake, I clicked rollback vandal instead of rollback on TW, and it reverted all 5 edits of yours. However as you can see I reverted my self as soon as I realised my mistake and I just kept the old revision while later added a ref. on the "tall ones" since Borza's statement was on "highlanders". I will also add back your valid last sentence and of course I'll remove the note from your page! However the noun makros does mean "length" in modern Greek as in ancient Greek and it's nothing wrong with that. I'm sorry for the inconvenience! A Macedonian, a Greek.
