BharatMatrimony is an Indian marriage service which helps young men and women to find their suitable life partners.[1] It was founded in 1997 by Murugavel Janakiraman.[1]

According to its founder Murugavel Janakiraman, users of BharatMatrimony.com can search the database with searches that typically include nationality, religion, age, availability of photograph and often geographic location and caste. Several other Indian matrimonial websites also offer this kind of service.[2]

Matrimony.com (earlier it was Consim Info. Pvt. Ltd),[3] of which BharatMatrimony is a part, was ranked one among in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 India 2011.[4] JuxtConsult's 2011 India Online Survey reports that BharatMatrimony is the most preferred matrimony portal among Indians.[5] BharatMatrimony is listed as one of the top 50 companies in NASSCOM's 100 IT Innovators.[6] Matrimony.com, of which BharatMatrimony is a part, won the Red Herring 100 Global Award for being one of the most innovative companies in the world.[7] BharatMatrimony's CEO Murugavel Janakiraman was declared the 'Digital Entrepreneur Of The Year - 2012' (Gold category)at the WAT Awards, 2012.[8]

BharatMatrimony also has mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Nokia and Android users in India. It also has an upgraded WAP site.[9][10]

Matrimony.com, of which BharatMatrimony is a part, has set a Guinness World Record for creating the Largest Wedding Photo Album on Matrimony Day, April 14, 2012.[11]
