has very few rivals in elegance of habit, indeed I am notaware that it has hitherto been introduced into any othergarden besides that at Kew. An evergreen stove species. Native of the Islands of Philippine and Singapore. Slender pendulous fronds, which are pubescent in a slightdegree; the form of the frond lanceolate-acuminate; the formof the pinnae oblong-acuminate, undulated, slightly serrate, baserounded and articulated with the rachis. Sori uniserial, immersed deeply, forming elevated protuberanceson the upper surface of the frond. b POLYPOUIUM VERRUCOSUM. Length of frond from four to five feet; colour brilliant green.Kachis and stipes scaly, and being articulated on a creepingrhizoma. I have not been fortunate enough to procure a plant, butmy thanks are due to Dr. Hooker and Mr. J. Smith, for fronds. As yet the present rare species is not to be procured fromour Nurserymen. The illustration of three pinnse is from a mature frond for-warded by Dr. Hooker, of the Royal Gardens, Kew.
