Wikipedia's peer review process exposes articles to closer scrutiny from a broader group of editors, and is intended for high-quality articles that have already undergone extensive work, often as a way of preparing a featured article candidate. It is not academic peer review by a group of experts in a particular subject, and articles that undergo this process should not be assumed to have greater authority than any other.

Nomination procedure[edit]

Follow the procedure at Wikipedia:Peer review/guidelines. Specific instructions for Geology articles:

  • After you have created the peer review notice on the talk page, the notice will present some options for creating the peer review page. Select Natural sciences & mathematics.
  • Transclude the peer review page you have created at the top of the Current peer reviews section. For example, if the peer review page is Wikipedia:Peer review/Algoman orogeny/archive1, insert {{Wikipedia:Peer review/Algoman orogeny/archive1}} at the top.
