The aim of the Gastropod Collaboration of The Month is to improve the quality of Wikipedia's Gastropod articles through widespread cooperative editing. It is hoped that some (if not all) of these will go on to become featured articles.
Each month a Gastropod COTM will be picked using this page. The chosen article will then be the focus of a group effort to improve the article. Any editor, registered or not, can help the collaboration and contribute to the monthly article. Any registered user can nominate an article and can choose to support any one of the nominated articles. Every Monday, the number of supporters are tallied. Intention of support[edit]
An intention of support for an article shows your commitment to support and aid in collaborating on that specific article if it is chosen. Although you are not required to fulfill that commitment, we ask that you only support articles that you are able to contribute to.
Any registered user is encouraged to add their support so long as they abide by the policies of Wikipedia, specifically Wikipedia:Sockpuppets.
Please add only intent to support signatures. Signatures to oppose will not affect the result, as the chosen article is simply the one with the most supporters
(see Approval voting).
To show support for a nomination, edit the nomination and add the following to the bottom of the Support section:

This adds your username and a time stamp to the numbered list item. The vote will look like this:

If you wish to withdraw your support, do not remove your signature; instead, add an asterisk and strike-through tags to your signature as shown:

This allows us to correctly calculate the remaining supporters and will appear like this:
Ties[edit]
In case of a tie, the listing of intent to support will be extended for 24 hours. If there is still a tie, the candidate that was nominated first will be chosen. During the extended listing period the old collaboration of the week should still be active.
How to nominate an article[edit]
To add a new nomination, please:
- (1) Copy the template below
- (2) Paste it at the bottom of the list of nominations
- (3) Replace "[Date]" with the correct date and "[Date + 7 days]" with the date, plus seven days. For both, the year is not necessary.
- (4) Sign your user name with the directions in the template and add a comment for why the article should be nominated.
- (5) Please preview your addition to make it sure all information is properly filled in and the links are working.
