Drew, I'm unhappy that you made this request without mentioning the previously declined request [1], which a bureaucrat reviewing this request might not have known about. I think you need to explain more fully why the concerns that leaded to a number of established users objecting to you being renamed have now been addressed, especially as you seem not to have edited at all between the discussion on WP:ANI about your conduct and making this request. It might be a good idea to have some of those who expressed concerns previously confirm here that they now feel a rename would be appropriate.
As far as I saw in the last request, most people (jack excluded) only expressed concern about the rename at that time. The position seemed to be that people didn't want a rename in the middle of the block/ban discussions to complicate things. I two wondered about the block reason. It was suggested at WP:ANI that I do some work at other projects, so one of the first venues I tried was commons. Unfortunately none of the passwords I normally use worked with my current username, so I had to create a new account there. In creating an account there an account was automatically created here. When I navigated back to WP after creating the account at commons I was already logged in under the new username here.     I blocked Ender the Xenocide indefinitely when Drew decided to switch accounts during a block discussion about some really inappropriate actions he undertook. I understand his desire to start over with a user name that doesn't have the stigma his current user name does, but don't feel that is appropriate at this time. Drew has made some really bad mistakes and has not been honest about them. Perhaps, after a few months of good, drama-free contributions this can be revisited. I personally would not perform this request. Rights to the global account lie with a user on jawiki, who therefore has the best claim to usurp the name here. I would not perform a rename where this will have the effect of changing priorities for a global account, and of creating an additional cross-wiki conflict for that account. I don't like the idea of making a contrary decision based on the activity of that user without knowing how the jawiki community and bureaucrat feel about usurpation. I tend to take these global claim intrusion requests on a case-by-case basis. In this case, slightly over 50 edits were made more than two years ago.
