Thank you for your response. I don't consider the use of the requested usurpation to be temporary at this point. Neither am I sure what the correct venue is for a request of this type. This username (Wikiped-tan) already exists and I have posted to the userpage already. I currently have two other usernames for exactly two different purposes. One username of mine is used for 'regular' editing and was established over ten years ago. My second username, Barbara (WVS) was created in 2015 for the specific purpose of editing as a Wikipedia Visiting Scholar with the University of Pittsburgh and so the supervisors at Pitt could easily follow my editing history. I don't want those two usernames changed. I only wanted to let someone, somewhere know that I have taken 'responsibility' for this inactive/unused username. Nah..I will let some more experienced heads chime in.But, I wil make some observations:-
1)Usurpation using the format you have executed the template, would rename Barbara (WVS) to Wikipe-Tan. You will not be able to use Barbara(WVS) anymore and I don't think that's what you want.
2)It seems to me that you primarily want another new legit-sock-account named Wikipe-tan, which is currently globally claimed. I don't think that we usually allow such claiming of interesting user-names, unless in situation extraordinare and our policy is hazy on these aspects.Anyways, even if we allow it, you have to create a new account which has to be then renamed to Wikipe-tan.
3)Your's reason behind the request is definitely interesting but I personally don't feel that (sort of) mascot-names shall be allowed to be usurped and/or held by any particular user (as is the case here). ~ Winged BladesGodric 11:59, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

    @Winged Blades of Godric: While we appreciate help, it is important to make sure you get things right when providing information to users requesting username changes or those requesting to usurp other accounts for alternate purposes. Usurpations can definitely be used in cases such as using alternative accounts or for using two accounts simultaneously. While it is not something done frequently, there is nothing prohibiting it. (Many users have requested usurping accounts that may be used to impersonate them, for instance.) There is nothing wrong with making this request here. Additionally, the template can be changed and any renamed carried out differently than the rename implies as global renamers and bureaucrats stewards don't just go clicking buttons without reading the request. Further, a new account does not need to be created in order for a username to usurped. It can be usurped and then created by the requesting user at Special:CreateAccount. Finally, it is not imperative that such requests be made at m:SRUC since the target account has no edits.
