I'd like to stick with this account rather than the new one, but I'd like to use my normal pseudonym. Admittedly, I have changed my username rather too often previously and I came to the conclusion that this was both a great annoyance and needless well before any admin brought it to my attention. I just think that here my previous mistakes shouldn't infringe upon the aesthetic preferences of this friend of mine who has done no harm to anyone. I did pledge I wouldn't make another change [6] and I stand by that but I deem this to be a one-time only circumstance in which I am only acting accordingly. My mother has also requested that I remove her maiden name from my username. It really is actually quite the opposite; I'm fed up of using a pseudonym and my friends don't believe it's me who made the edits on Wikipedia with that username. David King is also an all English speaking name. I've conducted arguments in my other mother tongue on Wikipedia [7] and stated since the off that I am of Yugoslavian heritage and my parents were born there. My real name is Kristofor Tomić but since I was born/live in England, I anglicise it slightly to Chris Tomic. I've gone through a silly phase of changing names very often, at times thinking leading people to definitively believe I'm English by using a very English name, but now on reflection, it just makes so much more sense to use my real name and stick with it. Nobody had any issues with me using my real name on Wikipedia, only me. It's more professional to use my actual name I believe and my circle don't have any issues with it. I'd give you my passport were it not for the security risks but I can always add you on facebook haha. I swear on my grandad's life this is my actual name and that I won't change it again. Look, I don't just 'kinda' understand where you're coming from, I FULLY understand where you're coming from and I'm sorry for having been such a pest. You're not being a dick, you're doing the right thing in curbing my requests here. I'm done with my phase of changing my username every other day and now and I've decided to get serious and just use my actual name because it solves the issue definitively; you always have your actual name, you use it everywhere else in life so there is no reason to deviate from it at all ever! As I said previously, I've just had an issue with using my actual name on Wikipedia and once that irrational fear prevails, you have to start inventing names and you can do that eternally, never quite sating your creative penchant adequately. In using my real name, no such issues exist and people who need to recognise me can actually do so easily. This whole business of changing username is of course disruptive to you (as in Wikipedians, we don't have a you (plural) in English unfortunately) but incidentally, it is also very disruptive to me. For the record, I hate all this as much as you do, waiting time on end for a name I've come to hate to be changed to yet another, which too in time I know I will come to hate as well. Using my real name is probably the best decision I have ever made in the years I have been on Wikipedia. If only I had done this from the off, we wouldn't be having this discussion now. I've sworn on my grandad's life, and that's a big thing FYI as of course you know, that not one part of my espousement in all this has been BS. When I attempted to create a new username on Wikipedia, some weeks back, I chose this username because it goes with my general username that I have been using on other social websites since 2009. However, the message I received upon creating a new account was that "Account creation error Username entered already in use. Please choose a different name.", which I viewed as a false message.

    When I have attempted to create an alternative to that username the message then shows that it is too close to the following name which, as stated, is not active on Wikipedia. This wikifarm is the only wiki they have supposedly editing on with username, https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/User:Bunai/cologneblue.css - it was done upon the creation of the account and there too- they have no actual contribution to the wiki.

All three edits made by current user are old and insignificant (one was unsigned talk-page, the other two were poor additions to the same article; none of these changes still exist). My account's inactivity is simply because I've not logged in to make edits; my current (static) IP's contributions will confirm that I have been consistently active throughout the entire interim period. (If a CheckUser is unavailable, I'm willing to privately verify this upon request.)

  • Reason: I believe the target was accidentally created by me in 2012 and was never linked to my email. It is a dormant account. I have contributed financially to Wikipedia for years, but only tried twice to edit articles. I am now approaching retirement and looking forward to having the time to contribute academically. I would like to re-create my account under my standard user name. I created my current today for the purpose of usurping the old account name. If you prefer, I will wait three months and re-submit the request. I have had an email exchange with Ron Jones on this matter and he is familiar with the dormant account.
