Well, the hyphen and the parenthesis are two characters that are on every keyboard and are thus very easy to type. You don't even have to copy and paste them like you must do with other Wikipedians' names such as ones that are Chinese symbols and even an administrator's name with two é's in it.  Clerk note: Speaking as the admin with the two diacritics as he notes above, I use Firefox's abcTajpu plugin to do diacritics, and I maintain a redirect from the unaccented name to the accented one. Also, some characters that are on every keyboard also end up breaking templates; I don't think the endash or closing ses are amongst them.
