Legality of Cannabis by U.S. Jurisdiction

cannabis in the vedas[edit]

The statement "It is noted that large quantity or long time consumption can be addictive and that it is more dangerous than tobacco for lungs and liver. " does not truly represent the attitude towards cannabis. In fact, the referred book goes to say "But there is no ban on its usage and recognition of considerable health benefits...". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pmthokku (talk • contribs) 16:43, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Pmthokku: The verse ( Arth, 11:8:15) is पञ्च राज्यानि वीरुधां सोमश्रेष्ठानि ब्रूमः। दर्भो भङ्गो यवः सह ते नो मुञ्चन्त्व् अंहसः॥ and it is transaltd as “To the five kingdoms of the plants which Soma rules as Lord we speak. Darbha, Bhang, barley, mighty power: may these deliver us from woe.” --User:श्रीमान २००२ (User talk:श्रीमान २००२) 05:09, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
As pointed out, the statement is not supported by the citation, and since has been removed. ShellPandey (talk) 10:11, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Legality by state?[edit]

Is there a reliable source for legality by state? Currently the map claims it's legal in many states, but the text directly contradicts this by noting that it's illegal in eg. Assam. Jpatokal (talk) 03:59, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jpatokal:, You are right, there are several contradiction between the map and the text. Perhaps the map may need to be removed? ShellPandey (talk) 14:57, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
