Legality of Cannabis by U.S. Jurisdiction
Cannabis in Iraq is illegal. Even with the smallest amounts can lead from 3 to 15 years in prison.[1]
History[edit]
Cannabis was allegedly introduced to Iraq in 1230 CE, during the reign of Caliph Al-Mustansir Bi'llah, by the entourage of Bahraini rulers visiting Iraq.[2] Although it was likely known to the people of Mesopotamia during the late bronze age.
